On tap at Düsseldorf airport. Aromatic beer, with a nice hoppy sting. The proper "alt" ffeling, a hint of sourness. Fruit, too, both apples and pears. Some dusty hops.

Dark amber alt topped by a big lasting beige head. A bit less interesting aroma than most Düsseldorf’s alts. Earthier, more mineral and less aptly toasty. No wooden undertones in this one. Still, a bright leafy bitterness shows up and, if weaker and less cutting than more confident example, it leaves its caramelly goodness take more room. Better than most generic bottled examples, but not quite up there.

(draught) Interesting one this. Deep amber with a thin off white head. Sweet candy sugar, yeast, hop and malt aroma. Malty hop taste, slightly earthy, with no sweetness despite the nose. Long bitter salty swallow with a malt finish. Can’t quite decide, lol...

Bottled. A clear dark amber beer with a white head. Thar aroma is malty and nutty. The flavour is malty, with some peppery notes and some hop in a medium long aftertaste.Light body. Refreshing and decent.

Aroma of hops and caramel malts. Clear, dark amber coloured with an off-white, medium, lasting head. Taste is quite empty. Some bitterness, some hops and some malts. Dry palate.
