Sweet/hoppy. Coogie (4), California, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Aug 30, 2006 Tap. I lived In Dusseldorf for a year, and found Frankenheim the perfect alt style: not too sweet, not too dry (and believe me, I tried all of them, a lot). At the Frankenheim itself, on Am Wehrhahn, they bring the alt as a given, in 250 ml galsses, and then ask what you want. Every time you get close to finishing, another glass appears. Inside, the bringing up up of kegs from the cellar, tapping, and pouring of hundreds of glasses is a continuous process, especially in summer. Soapy head, small bubbles, nice hops bite. Reading the bottle reviews, seems this is an alt best experienced live, because I thought it was Great. nick76 (2657), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 19, 2006 Updated: Aug 22, 2006The aroma is metallic and malty with a very small amount of hops. The appearance is chocolate brown with an average head. The flavor has toffee, paper, chocolate, cereal, and somewhat astringent. The palate is chalky. The aftertaste is bitter accompanied by what seem to be esters. Overall it’s an average beer to me. Jukkabro (3023), Tampere, Finland

Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is also hopped with dry tones, mild roastiness and chocolate. Slightly watery palate. Aftertaste lasts with hops. D (542), Poland
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 10, 2006 Brownish colour, medium head. I particularily enjoyed the malt notes, though I’d like the flavour to be more intensive. Still drank the whole bottle with pleasure. joss (3671), Garching b. München, Germany

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jul 1, 2006 Bottled. Clear, sparkling, reddish-brown beer with an off-white head. So far, so good, but the rest isn’t. Malt, grain and hay in the aroma, and the flavor the same, except there is some hops too. Thin body, and a real disappointment. (060616)
