g2bfry (12), San Diego, California, USA Dec 1, 2008 The color is a deep brown with slight opacity. Small head with a bit of lace. Not much intensity to the nose, yet it is distinctly malty. A smooth hoppy taste, followed by bready pretzel notes and a delayed dry, salty, malty finish. Medium body with a little extra carbonation. djtoucan (32), Tokyo, Japan Dec 1, 2008 Taste like a thicker version of Spaten Optimator or my one year aged Nikko Black. Not sure if I like it more than either of those as Frankenstein was a bit too much in carbonation bitterness for me but I enjoyed. Smells like biscuits and bread when you open it up. Dark gold brown slightly thick . Sweet like caramel or semi-sweet chocolate. gunnar (13), , Norway Oct 23, 2008 Bottle. Dark amber with large head. Fizzy with moderat malt. Taste sweet with flavor of caramel and bakery and a hint of citrus.
