It had a malty aroma, a smooth taste and mild roasted flavor. It was a very drinkable brew. Aggie80 (709), Michigan, USA

Strong burnt coffee flavor dominates with a nice bitterness to the aftertaste. I quite enjoyed it with my chicken dinner! ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA

Pours a flat greyish-brown with some lighter browns on the edges. Big creamy off-white head. Aroma is lightly sweet of dark maple syrup with some very dry roasty flavors that almost give it a hickory smell. Opens up with the typical smoothness of Local Color beers. Hardly any carbonation, very soft and creamy. There is a bittersweet flavor that plays on the palate from the roast. Finish is very chewy and surprisingly complex. Maple, bitter molasses, and a slightly winey sweet roast flavor. Good medium body. 2nd Local Color Brew I’ve tried, and I’m very impressed. UnsofistaCat (222), Garden City, Michigan, USA

Not much in the aroma department, which detracts here. I find black lagers often fall short w aroma, but the flavor was nice so I was not that bothered about it. Would try again. estoppel (1028), Buffalo, New York, USA
