Commercial Description:
Dark and smooth, this Irish-style stout has a distinctive dry-roasted coffee flavor with notes of caramel.

Pours a black color with ruby highlights and a thin creamy light brown head. Mild aroma of coffee, the coffee is a bit stronger in the flavor but it’s still a weak, simple stout. The body is light with a dry texture and medium carbonation.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized off-white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a semi-hazy no visible carbonation brown colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was malty. . The mild flavor contained thin weak notes of malt. Not one that I would buy again.

Draft at Frankenmuth Brewery. Very small buttermilk head, beautiful lacing, no visible carbonation, transparent, and a dark brown hue with some ruby. Nose was roasty, coffee and some chocolate. Flavor was coffee, roasty, burnt, thin, and watery. Very disappointing and blah. Mouthfeel was smooth and thin. Light-medium body. Texture was too thin and just didn’t live up to its style IMO.

Growler. Pours a dark brown color with very little head. Nose is roasty and chocolatey. Taste is very thin and watery. A light air of roast floats through your mouth above the liquid quickly racing over your tongue. A sour note catches this one in teh end with some lactose notes here and there and a sickly oil like finish.

Pretty blah... it would be a great beer if you just wanted a tiny step up from guiness. It is fairly watery, but does warm nicely. This one gets distinctivly maltier, with more coffee touch when it is served not ice cold (as the brewery served it to me)

Tasted as part of sampler on brewery tour. Thick tan head and beautiful dark brown color. Awesome chocolate coffee aroma and similar taste. Guide said it compared to Guinness, but didn’t have the same sourness and drank a bit easier than Guinness. Wish they bottled this.

Nice and dark, malty nose, and a decent coffee finish. OK as far as stouts go.

Draught, very creamy lasting tan head, moderate lacing, black in color, chocolate and coffee smell and taste, medium to full body, bitter finish.
