CaptainCougar (4599), Rockville, Maryland, USA Mar 10, 2007 Sampled on tap on 7/14/06 at the RBSG: Pours a hazy dark copper amber with a thin-lacing wispy white head. Aroma has a good piny grapefruity citrus hoppy presence with lots of bittersweet caramel malt. Body starts with a sweet, full, sticky earthy caramel maltiness and lots of fresh, bittering grapefruity hops toward a slightly warming finish. illinismitty (1321), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jan 17, 2007 Pours dark opaque amber with a thin beige head. Fruity hop and toasted malt aroma. Flavor of caramel malt, complimented by some citrus and piney hops and a touch of toastiness. Long bitter finish. Decent. Ungstrup (10824), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 2, 2006 An unclear dark amber beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of hops and citrus - cascade? The flavor is sweet, but also with quite a lot of alfa acid, lemon, and grapefruit. Quite nice and refreshing. I can’t tell, that this beer is 8% ABV - dangerous but nice stuff. Dark brown color, light marroon tinge. Light head and lacing. Nose of bright cascade, caramel and light roast. Some grass and chewy malts. The flavor is sweet, more chewy with some raisin, brown sugar and maple notes. Delicious and savory hoppy beer. I’m just not in the mood right now. So many sweet hoppy beers in a row...
