Bottle brown, 500 ml.
Appearance: Pours nice, healtyh looking orangy red and moderately and exclusively naturally carbonated body, body is very yeasty and cloudy visually, head is very dense, frothy to creamy, initially huge and very firm what results in a very slowly decrease to a medium size. Head is lasting till the end of the beer and leaves a very good lacing, head is originally beige to bronze in colour.
Aroma: Very nice and full aroma of highly fruity and perfumy hops with notes of candies, cookies, flowers, dough, freshly baked cake, powder sugar, white sugar, notes of cane sugar, distinct and noble aroma of wheat, some notes of rye, gooseberry, pleasant yeasty accents well pronounced not only in terms of wheat but also barley grains, pineapple juice. Very good and really outstanding aroma as for a Low Alcohol Weizen, reminding me very good Belgian Pale Ales.
Flavour: Very light and smooth Low Alcohol, pleasant and mild yeasty texture, notes of red apple, sweet carrot juice, well pronounced notes of wheat and some barley malt at the background, a light bodied beer with a good balance os sweetness, smoothness and gentle dough-like saltyness, notes of gooseberry and pineapple juice, some notes of clove and banana, some rust and minerality in water profile, finish duration is short to medium.
Palate: Body is light to medium, texture is watery but quite smooth, coarbonation on palate is moderate, finish feel is kind of flat, light with no additional impressions being worth noting.
shrubber85 (2833), Wallhalben, Germany Aug 22, 2009 Bottle. Wheat malt and yeast aroma - just a slight hint of banana. Cloudy straw color with moderate head. Yeast and wheat malt flavor - again just a hint of banana/peach. A decent enough NA but disappointing that it had very little of the fruity flavors that make Franziskaner Hefe such a good beer. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Jul 27, 2009 Golden with a small white head. Grainy and bready malt aroma. Sweet malty water flavour Dedollewaitor (3625), Odense, Denmark Jul 10, 2009 50cl bottle @ Munchen. Pours slight unclear golden with a creamy head and lacings. Nose is wheat, grain and corn. A bit watery palate. A bit of banana, maize and wheat in flavor. omhper (12155), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 9, 2009 Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! </> Cloudy pale amber, creamy head. Estery banana and cardboard in the aroma. Light bodied with soft mouthfeel, drying out to a bit of emptiness. Quite drinkable with some refreshing qualities. Pretty good non alcoholic weizen. rosenbergh (843), Helsinki, Finland Feb 22, 2009 500 ml bottle. From Germany.
Hazy darkish orange colour with quickly vanishing head. Very weak aroma. Flavour is strangely sweet vanilla and sweet vanilla yogurt flavour. Not as watery as some n/a beers but not very Weißbier-like mouthfeel. Bit of a disappointment for a Franziskaner.
Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 28, 2008 Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet malty combined with notes of wheat. The flavor is sweet malty and wheaty, leading to a lightly bitter finish. The body is no wonder thin. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Oct 6, 2008 Bottle 50cl @ chris o’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2008. Clear light to medium yellow color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, wheat, paper - cardboard.
