Nice brown color with cream white head, which remained entire time. Not as tart as a non-dunkel hefe- definately malty-er. Really nice beer. artvandelay (32), Ames, Iowa, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 14, 2007 On tap at Hessen Haus. Pours a murky brown with a thick lasting head and very good lacing. Nose is banana with roasted malt and some yeast. Taste is wheat a banana. Mouthfeel is lively with a nice chewiness. Finishes a little dry and somewhat bitter. Great session brew! Color’s a milk-choco brown with a thick, off-white head that ain’t goin’ nowhere. Serious aroma of chocolate malt and ripe banana, wow. More bananner in flavor, roasty-malty with some root beer notes. But it’s a touch sour instead of sweet or bitter, and it finishes a bit dry. Really enjoyed this beer a lot. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 11, 2007 Bottle. Pours a muddy brown with a good head. Smells of wheat and fruit, especially banana. Tastes too much of banana but not as overpowering as their hefe hell. Smooth. jredmond (1072), New Jersey, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2007 Pours a cloudy root beer brown with a large rocky head. The aroma is a strong banana and roasted malts. I have never sampled a beer that smells more like ripe bananas than this one. I like bananas. The mouthfeel is light, slick and soft. Very nice. The flavor follows the nose: sweet roasted malts followed by bananas and light wheat. The finish is smooth and sweet. Quite tasty.
