Small and uninteresting palate. Too little bitters in this slightly sweet beer. Disappointing due to higher expectations. MJGG (423), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

I lived in Germany for a while and this beer was the best around. However, it doesn’t travel well. It doesn’t taste right after the journey to America. There is something wrong with the sediment in the American bottles. If I was rating a fresh bottle in Germany I’d give it better marks than I’ve given it for the imported bottles in the US. pj1855 (158), Eagan, Minnesota, USA

Poured a cloudy copper color with a average off white head that mostly diminished. Aroma of bread and caramel. Flavor was mailny roasted malt with a slighty sour aftertaste. Fairly thin beer with some fizzy carbonation.

Finish is sticky and dry, and is slightly reminiscent of rancid butter. I’ts probably due to the months in a locker this one has endured. I’m gonna rerate with a fresh specimen one of these days. craftycarl21 (580), South Hero, Vermont, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 2, 2009 Pours mostly brown with a solid frothy head. Aroma of banana, caramel, champagne, and other fruits. Flavor is quite fruity, with more banana, apple, caramel spice, and nuttiness. Palate is OK, nothing special, but an above average brew.
