shawnm213 (906), South Bend, Indiana, USA Nov 15, 2009 bottle. rating #1657 for this beer. pours a hazy golden with a white head. some lace. notes of typical banana, cove, bread, and spices. light and crisp. easy drinkin. pretty good. Berley31 (185), New Brunswick, Canada Nov 14, 2009 A: Poured with a huge, white creamy head... this baby hung around for quite awhile, and eventually dissipated to about 1-finger. Dark yellow and cloudy body.
S: Very nice aroma of wheat, with lots of lemon. Not too strong at all, which is a trap a lot of hefes seem to fall into.
T: Mildly sweet, with light tones of wheat and lemon. Short duration; very easy drinking and refreshing.
M: Creamy texture with a medium body and soft-to-average carbonation.
D: Highly drinkable, very refreshing... an excellent hefeweizen, and a fantastic session beer. jmulv (82), Rensselaer, New York, USA Nov 9, 2009 Nose of wheat, citrus, and some spices. Taste is quite dry and snappy, with a predominantly wheat character. Finishes very clean and smooth. Easy to drink, and a pleasure to drink. That’s a win-win right there. ROGUE (641), Newark, Delaware, USA Nov 7, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a creamy white head. Has a stong yeasty aroma with ester and fruity notes. Vanilla and banana are the first tastes and last all the way through with subtle wheat flavors. Full and creamy mouthfeel. rosenbergh (861), Helsinki, Finland Nov 7, 2009 5.000 ml keg. From Straubing, Germany.
Banana, wheat, caramel, citrus and hints of yeast. Banana, wheat, caramel and some bitter hops in flavour. Excellent Weizen. Davros (212), Australia Nov 6, 2009 Pours hazy orange with a large white head.
The expected banana and wheaty bread instantly recognisable in the aroma, along with oatmeal and just the slightest hint of cloves.
Flavours include white bread, subtle banana and hints of cinnamon.
Body seems slightly watery, but carbonation is good. walrussell (105), , Illinois, USA Nov 2, 2009 Lemony Banana Super easy to drink, beautiful light gold color. A bit light for my taste, but really very good. bsp77 (202), Minnesota, USA Oct 31, 2009 Poured from bottle into Frankfurter glass.
Very bubbly, somewhat dark, cloudy orange-yellow with a huge fluffy head. American-made Hefeweizens wish they could look like this. Wait a minute, where did the head go? - it settled down to a thin layer with no lacing. Oh well, nice while it lasted.
Aroma of spicy clove, wheat malt, banana, lemon and light noble hops.
Major clove and wheat taste, while the banana is a little more restrained. While very good, not quite as flavorful as hoped for. A big chunk of yeast settled on the bottom (despite my best efforts to break it up), and when I took that last sip, it tasted much more flavorful. While this bottle only arrived at my store a couple weeks ago, I can only assume this would have been better if it was fresh in Germany and the yeast had been mixed up better.
High carbonation, light body, dry finish.
Nice refreshing Weizen that could have used a touch more depth or maybe the Germans need to figure out how to get their beers here faster.
