12 oz. bottle. Pours an opaque honey color with a nice, white fluffy head that hangs around for a fairly long time. Sweet caramel and toffee notes, maybe a hint of anise and clove, nice layer of flavors as you delve into it more. Light to medium bodied. An interesting and dynamic selection.

500ml bottle. Poured pale hazy yellow. Big creamy head. Aroma is wheat, yeast and citrus/coriander. Taste is malty and bready. Some spices as well. Quite good and refreshing.

On tap at the Flying Saucer in KC. Pours a cloudy orange body with a big, two-finger width, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate amount of lacing. Aroma is a bit sweeter with wheat bread, citrus, banana, and lots of yeast. Flavor is bready with a more noticeable spicing. Still maintains a sweetness and a nice fruit flavor of banana and citrus. Finishes yeasty with a lightly spiced citrus aftertaste. Body is full with a slight tickle of carbonation and a smooth finish. Overall, a pretty solid hefe with lots of refreshing, balanced taste. Good one.

Look of a classic german hefe with a nice big head. No real lacing was disappointing. Smells of banana, clove, and fresh bread. Banana throughout the taste with clove afterward with wheat. I maybe got some citrus on my second sip. Very nice hefe.

Pours a super turbid neon yellow with a quickly dissipating white head. Complex aroma of banana and cloves that is rarely matched in any Hefe outside of Germany (this is somewhat masked by an issue detailed below). Taste is restrained banana/fruity character with spicy clove. The major problem I have always had with this beer is that it is way over carbonated. The stinging carbonation scrubs away most of the flavor. If I want to taste some of the complex tastes in there, I have to spend ten minutes forcing carbonation out of the beer by swishing it around. The high level of carbonation also makes it really difficult to get a good whiff of the aroma because the nucleating bubbles carry away all of the smells. So, it is not until you work out the carbonation that you can truly partake. Other than that, it is one of the poster children of the style and deserves a chance from anyone looking for a good Hefe.

Not sure about the people saying that there isn’t much for flavor. I got a strong and sweet wheaty flavor with hints of citrus and bubblegum. The appearance was cloudy and thick, with a creamy head. One of the better German macros that I’ve had.
