djones (116), Michigan, USA Sep 8, 2008 Golden cloudy. Very spicy and yeast wheat beer, love it. Lemony citrus with cloves and pepper. Fruity and sweet, but also well balanced. Crisp, soft, smooth and very refreshing. Yeasty finish. Man, this is good. MrSifter (11), , Italy Sep 7, 2008 Updated: Sep 8, 2008La mia prima weisse bier in assoluto e una delle mie preferite. D’estate è particolarmente dissetante e rinfrescante. 1010 (206), Marysville, Ohio, USA Sep 4, 2008 Updated: Sep 19, 200812 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy amber color with a thick white head. Has a fruity taste, but very balanced.
Not usually a fan of this style, however this is a good beer. pjarnold81 (8), Edgewater, Florida, USA does not count Sep 3, 2008 Pours a cloudy golden amber with a foamy white head. Citrus and light malt comes across most clearly on the nose with faint aromas of bananas and possibly cocoa. Immediately spicy on the tip of the tongue. Citrus and yeast come across in the finish. A bit too yeasty for my tastes but overall a very good beer. drpimento (785), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Sep 2, 2008 Loooonnng time favorite. Many years ago some friends and I sat at a local bar and compared some hefe weizens side by side and this one came out on top. Still does. Poured with a fine white head and a bit of lace. Hazy amber color. Extremely fragrant! Intoxicating (sorry) spicy, estery, grainy aromas. Same flavors but stronger and a bit of yeasty bitterness. Superb balance. Body is just right for this masterpiece. Great clean finish. Champion session beer. Kudos to Spaten!! Having this on draft at Bodega downtown La Crosse, Wis. USA. kevd193213 (477), Hope Valley, Rhode Island, USA Sep 2, 2008 7 oz draught sample. Cloudy golden pour with a medium white head. Aroma of bananas, lemon and ginger. Taste of yeast, bread and bananas. Full but not overpowering finish. Great on a hot summer day. JuStuka (187), Edo De Mex, Mexico Sep 2, 2008 Pale yellow color, smell is wheat and some lemon, spice. Taste is very wheaty Rynoplasty (500), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Sep 2, 2008 Pours a hazy golden brown with a big white head. Aroma is yeasty with banana bread like notes. The taste is a spicey, yeasty, clovey banana hefe flavor. A very good example of a hefe, and usually decently priced, although it just went up above 12.$ a twelve pack, before that it was about the best buy around along with other Spaten brews.
