Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier

This is one of my favorite German Wheat Beers. A hang-over buster. Pairs really well with pancakes.

Draft at Laschet’s in Chicago. This was quite a subdued Hefe. Nose was lightly citric and fruity, some banana and clove though more malty than anything. Taste is slightly metallic, somewhat bready, fizzy. Not as full bodied as I would like, though the caramelization is definitely there. Nice, but not my favorite.

Excellent, almost like banana bread. Smooth finish. One of my favorites on tap.

.5l bottle, abundant head that lasts, smells peachy, some lemon, faint banana and clove. Taste is nice, fruity, peppery, slightly acidic, fades out dry. This is much better than their dunkel, more dynamic.

Always looks a tint brighter than card board. Exceptional head that is laced with easters from the yeast. A balance on the palate of citrus, banana and earthy finish. Earthy like sweet raw mushrooms. Not enough hops to break the malt flavor but there. Refreshing.

Got this one on tap at Kclingers pub. Nice cloudy gold color. Good carbonation with a nice combination of fruit, malt an yeast flavors. Very tasty.

Pours a cloudy golden brown - looks just like fresh apple cider. Has a very sweet aroma of clove and coriander. Slightly tart, bready taste with a strong coriander note. Very little aftertaste. Pretty damn good for a $3 pint at a Mobil station!

Poured from bottle a hazy glowing pale blond with a large tight white head that slowly disappeared. Aroma is mildly soapy with banana, clove, and doughy yeast. High carbonation creates a spicy tingle on the tongue and throat with the flavors coming in with light banana, clove, caramel, honey, very light touch of tart yeast, and some dough. The palate is refreshingly light with a nice carbonation zip with some sweet and not much bitter. Easy to drink, especially on a hot day. I’ll be having more.
