BeerGestapo (725), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 6, 2008 (German) Hazy Orange color with a Sm-White Head that dissapates quickly. This Brew has a Banana/Wheat Aroma. Smooth, But with a watery Hops taste!!! I wanted a bit more from this one, But enjoyable. Beerlando (2283), Orlando, Florida, USA Mar 5, 2008 I’m not typically a big Hefe fan, but this one is solid. The body is a hazy, glowing tangerine-gold. Pair that with a billowing head of thick, meringue-like, snow white foam and this brew just looks incredibly refreshing. The lacing is as thick as any I’ve ever seen, coating the glass entirely, from top to bottom. Scents of orange chiffon, lemon peel, coriander, clove, allspice, and banana cream pie are well blended and inviting. The first sip is just a bit of a letdown, as the citrus notes are slightly watered down and not as crisp as they showed in the nose. Creamy banana and spices are again a bit subdued. A lighter than medium palate is well carbonated and not at all sticky or cloying, lending to its supreme drinkability. Short, clean finish. This is nothing special, but it owns Tucher and Julius-Echter in the widely-available Hefe category. donteatpoop (124), Youngstown, Ohio, USA Mar 2, 2008 I’m glad I made this purchase.
There was a bit of sediment in the bottom of the bottle, and I rolled the beer around a bit to get some of it up before opening and pouring.
It was very cloudy and had a beautiful yellow-orange glow. The scent was appealing, wheaty and fruity. It tasted primarily of hops and banana. This went down smooth and was a bit creamy.
I will undoubtedly drink this many times again.
BlackOut (43), East End, England Feb 29, 2008 Nice looking head and color. First tasting impression was that this beer is kinda weak and watery, on the good side its got smooth mild flavour, hints of caramel and cofee, a bit sour but quite refreshing. Would be good on on its own an a hot summer day rather than in a winter. Overall not bad. Bosskie (106), Netherlands Feb 29, 2008 Reddish gold with a generou, lively creamy head.
Fresh banana, citrus smell with a woody feel.
Refreshing watery, sour flavour - well balanced.
The first taste is quite intense banana which then drifts into hints of cherries, lemon and a saturated background: un unclear palate which I can’t place but which seems to accentuate the banana-lemon combination very nicely. Bit too dry for a weissbier, though.
Very interesting beer - it promises to be a good German weissbier and turns out to be that and something more. Unexpected. brew4fun (167), West Virginia, USA Feb 28, 2008 #100!! 16.9oz bottle. Pours cloudy golden/copper, substantial creamy white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, banana and spice. Excellent balance, hop bitterness noticeable yet allows the banana, spice, wheat & yeast filter through unimpeded, like bright sunlight through lace curtains over venetian blinds. Carbonation tingles over the tongue, aftertaste of banana bread and spicy hops. Beautiful brew that I look forward to enjoying uch more of in the future. smith4498 (822), Miami, Florida, USA Feb 27, 2008 Poured cloudy with off white head. Aromas of wheat and yeast. Mild flavors of wheat, bananas and some other fruits. Easy drinking mellow beer. You could drink alot of these. Good thist quencher. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel and carbonation that tingles on the tongue. An excellent wheat beer. Atorak (2), New Jersey, USA does not count Feb 27, 2008 One of my absolute favorite German Hefeweizen beers. Clean taste, goes down easily, with an inviting cloudy pour.
