Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier

Nice and cloudy pour with a decent amount of head. Aroma is pretty bland being almost entirely wheat, but the taste as much more complexity to it. There is a very nice spice that compliments the wheat flavor with a hint of yeasty goodness. Excellent beer all around and not too extreme. I imagine that this is the perfect beer to introduce someone to the imported/craft brewing world.

Very solid wheat. A friend brought me this from Germany. Hazy cloudy pour with a frothy head. Aroma of wheat but a very spicy taste. I’m not much on wheats but this one I liked.

Pours a cloudy dark yellow/orange with a small white head. Nose of apricot, banana, and malt. Smooth well balanced flavor that grows on you. Might be my favorite Hef.

On tap at Sharp Edge. Pours a cloudy orange-honey color with a 1-finger head. Nose of fresh sour apples, clove, banana, coriander and some other fruity esters. Very smooth taste. A lot of citrus, spice, honey and some yeast flavor. A hint of bitter in the finish. Very light and refreshing, but has a good mouthfeel.

Decent wheat beer with a great pour and good spicy taste. I got hooked on this beer last summer, and it compliments strong flavored food very well.

very cloudy, with cloud like thick head. wheat dominates on nosing. very nice wheat flavor, not overpowered by coriander or cloves/bannas/ bubble gum. very clean & balanced. for those who dont like the cotton-candied/buble-gummed weisse beers, this is killer shit. on draft it would rival any weisse beer out there. schneider edel & weihenstephaner only was in same stratosphere.

I absolutely love this beer. Got hooked on it just outside of Fussen Germany. Rich, banana flavor with just a hint of spice. Love to have this with a Brat and sauerkraut. Finish it off with a hunk of beer cheese (made from stale beer).

One of the best Hefes. Beautiful classic, hazy, golden pour. Robust citrus, yeast, spicy aroma. Medium body with citrus, clove, slight bananas, yeast and wheat. Pleasant aftertaste.
