hrossrm (20), Maine, USA Jan 25, 2008 Poured from bottle. Super cloudy gold with that banana scent that seems to come with every Weissbier. Also tastes of bananas with a faint aftertaste of hops. I’m not a big fan of wheat beers, so I can’t say that I really enjoy this beer. Nevertheless, I think it’s a good brew for wheat beer aficionados. Davin (48), Vermont, USA Jan 24, 2008 spicy banana and clove... maybe too much for me. The beer was enjoyable and refreshing but not the best for the middle of winter when I tried it. jeg (115), Austin, Texas, USA Jan 22, 2008 Hazy orange color with a big fluffy head and some sediment. Nose has wheat, banana, citrus. Taste adds cloves to the mix. Refreshing, a tiny bit sweet. KnN (712), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Jan 21, 2008 Nice cloudy pour although a little heavy on the "bubblegum" flavor than can be a bit off-putting with wheat beers.
Respectable wheat though. gottalottaibu (242), charlotte, North Carolina, USA Jan 21, 2008 hazy golden pour with a nice frothy head. nice bananas and yeast in the aroma. sweet spice and yeast in the flavor. refreshing, crisp and always a good choice in a hefe-weiss. kevin62 (267), New Jersey, USA Jan 20, 2008 There is nothing more that can be said for this true classic made bySpaten.Refreshing, bananaflavors as well as wheat and light clove. One of the first to look at for a German Hefeweizen. Woodcamp (8), Schiedam, Netherlands does not count Jan 20, 2008 On Tap expecting a good beer but disappointed by the dullness of the beer. A bit too watery for my palate. Good apperance, hazy with a small head. Not the type of head you expect on a Weizenbier, due maybe to the small 30cc glass they use in Holland. Almost no smell to speak of, a light sweet flavor almost no hops or bitterness. Still better than the Belgian ’Witbieren’. 380streamline (4), Middleton, England does not count Jan 20, 2008 The first weissbier I came across, way back in 1992! Nice cloudy pour and well defined palate. Hints of banana in the palate, clean finish and very easy to drink. A fine example of the hefe style
