Pours a cloudy yellowish-orangish with a large white head with very good retention. Strongest flavor is the banana, but a very good balance with the citrus, cloves and spices. Slightly sour finish. Not much aftertaste. Very carbonated. downender (2593), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 25, 2006 I was surprised to find this in my parents garage. The beer was poured from a green bottle. I was worried it was going to be skunked. Surprisingly it wasn’t. It pours to a nicely hazy caramel colored body with a lasting fluffy white meringue head. The aroma is nice with lots of crisp wheat, some interesting yeasts that remind me of New Glarus Copper Kettle or some of the Bells Wheat series. Yeasty bananas with nice earthy caramels and spicy with some cloves. The flavor is nicely wheaty with a clean finish. Light bananas and cloves fill out the brew. Good hefeweizen. I’m surprised I’ve never had this before. Much nicer than Hacker-Pschorr Hefe Weisse. Moderate mouthfeel that’s well textured with lots of wheat and yeasts in it. With my vague remembrance of New Glarus Solstice Weiss, it’s hard to say which is better. Too bad I can’t do a side-by-side comparison. Nate (2552), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA

Orange-amber cloudy with pillowy lacing off-white head. Light-medium carb & silky watery body. Smooth taste - wheat, yeast, fruity, citrusy. Sediment gives nice bittering in the finish and hops have a nice tang. Great German wheat. Bockyhorsey (2541), Mesa, Arizona, USA

Dark cloudy gold body with big white head that disipated quickly. Flavor was a good mix of banana and spices. Good medium body brew that was refreshing on a hot summer day. Some spice left on palate but not much. dwyerpg (2537), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Typical banana-like flavors dominate. No skimping on the ’hefe’ (yeast) here. Its a mouthful: big and chewy. I always seem to get a paper-like finish with German wheats - endemic to the style? Overall: Classic! jgb9348 (2502), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 22, 2003 Very hazy golden colour with a nice white head. VERY strong aroma banana aroma with mixes of cloves and coriander seed. Fantastic look and smell! Medium-light bodied; Strong spicey (the two aformentioned notes as well as curacao) but very clean with yeast and wheat characteristics. Aftertaste very clean and refreshing. Overall, a great German wheat - really one to savour. I actually had this one (I just realised it) at the Frankfurt Airport (Lufthansa terminal) well before I was 21! I had this beer on draught at MacGregor's in Rochester, New York on 21-October-2003.
