Not one of the better German examples of a hefe. Estery yeastiness was weak and seemed lacking. Also had a slight dirt character to the malt taste. I had to squeeze the lemon and I usually refrain from that. A lighter color than Schneider Weiss.

Maybe I’m just an amateur, but this one was darned good (contrary to what I read below). Hefe’s are at the top of my list and this one is hard to top... in a bottle nonetheless. No more Paulaner for me, where both are available. Great citrus / fruity smell, nice golden cloudy appearance and a flavor that was perfect for a wheat beer.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dark beige color weizen with a huge pure white foamy head with good retention and great lacing. Aroma of banana and cloves is huge and very enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by some banana, cloves and bubble gum notes with a perfect creamy texture of wheat malt. Full body with limited filtration and great carbonation. No date on the bottle but I am guessing that this is somewhat fresh. Probably the best form a style that I enjoy consistently.

Bottle at the Falconer. Hazy orange amber with a fizzy white head. Banana bread aroma and taste with a sweet finish.
