Nicely carbonated, lively, but no bite. The malt was thinner than I remembered, with the wheat flavors quite subdued. Yeast flavors dominate, namely cloves and some fruitiness, namely mandarin orange. Wish the wheat was more up front. bluevegie (2200), Perth, Australia
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 30, 2004 The colour was murky, light orange/straw with a good size white head. Aroma was of cloves to me. The taste firstly was soft banana and a little bubblegum, in the middle came a little lemon and zest and then the cloves reappeared finally it was a little watery at the end. Texture is slightly oily and the body was firm and medium. Very enjoyable! willblake (2177), Belcamp, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2004 bottle 05.01.04 Pale, hazy golden (yellowish); not as rich looking as the commercial pic and I’m using a big tulip glass so it should be darker? Big ol’ frothy, foamy head that jsut won’t quit. Aromas are light and brisk - floral yeasts, fresh herbs, hay. Flavor is calm, subdued, soft maltiness but nice and crisp. Palate is alive and tingly with carbonation, but not fizzy. I never did find much spice, shouldn’t there be some? Vanilla begins to blossom on finish as beer warms. Nice clean finish. Good, readily available beer. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA

Interesting spice and yeast aromas. Flavors of apricots, bananas, and bread with slight residual sweetness. Less complexity than Weihenstephaner, but an excellent Hefe-weizen nonetheless. To quote Bob Dylan, "Yea! Heavy and a bottle of bread". johndoughty (2156), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England

This is one of my favorite Hefeweizens. Pours a beautiful hazy golden color. Ample head and a hearty yeasty aroma. Tastes like liquid hay. Earthy and substantial tasting in the mouth. Extremely drinkable. EithCubes (2146), Indiana, USA

Pleasing and on the sweet side, one of the better Hefeweizen. Cloudy concoction that’s a beautiful, light golden color up top and slightly darker at the bottom. Hoppy aroma. Good level of carbonation, sticky head, smooth creamy mouthfeel. There’s some banana in there, and a bit of a fruity aftertaste, nothing bitter. Refreshing!. Silphium (2137), Haslett, Michigan, USA

An excellent hefeweizen, surely the best I've had the pleasure to sip. Pours a very cloudy orange with a thin white head. Aroma of cloves and banana. Flavor is similar, with cloves dominating, but banana and light citrus notes permeating the smooth spiciness. This smooth hefeweizen is quite refreshing and intriguing.
