Half-liter weizen draft at the York Tavern, HInsdale, IL. Hazy yellow turning to orange in the thick upper part of the glass, pillowy head up top. Set aside the lemon slice to pick up a nice weiss smell with some citrus clinging to it. Taste is exceptionally clean, light and refreshing. Usual banana esters stay low, perhaps because it’s served colder than it should be. But we do get more citrus notes, like lemon zest, and a spritz of wheat spiciness. Great to have from a well-kept draft keg.

A delicious hefeweizen. I just got into these in the summer, so I hate to see the summer coming to an end! Aroma was decent...yeast and heavy banana. Pour was a nice cloudy gold with a small one finger head of tiny white bubbles. Taste was nice and tart...a little thick...wih strong yeastiness and banana notes. Great summer beer! Light and crisp.

Bottle. Aroma is a candied rush of bananas foster, light honey and indiscriminate minerals. Pleasant. Pours a hazed honey gold, with a little opaline character and a silky soap of tracing white. Flavor is gentle and lightly sweet, with some more honey, a bit of bread crust, lots of faintly peppery spice and more pale fruits, sliding tropical. A bit thin. Leaves a nice wish of caramel and almonds on the backend. Nice lemony hop smack, very noble.

Nice cloudy gold. Large bubbly white head. Sparse lacing. Aromas of yeast and wheat. Some citrus. Banana and clove. Flavors are citrus (orange) and more banana. Peppery spices. Coriander maybe. Malts and wheat are abundant. There is subtle yeast hanging around there. The palate is crisp and refreshing, the body is nice and light and bubbly and it finishes with spice and fruits.

Poura a nice cloudy orange with a big lasting head. Aroma is very creamy and yeasty. Flavor is like a nice fresh batch of banana’s. I also get lots of yeast and a very bitter flavor like lemon. Very smooth and drinkable and probably one of my favorite hefe’s.

6/20/03, draft, Berlin. I have to love the German sensibilities! I sampled this Hef at a street fair set up in the middle of a busy hotel/conference area featuring more beer booths than food stands. I enjoyed this while watching the locals drink and relax on a Friday afternoon. Wonderful Hefeweizen appearance, yellow-orange and hazy with a bright white head. Aroma of wheat, fruit, citrus, sweet malts and spicy hops. Flavor of golden roasted grains, lemon, cardamom, cumin, and pepper with a sweet-n-sour finish. Nice medium body but the carbonation was a little aggressive. Overall a good beer and nice drinking experience!

An excellent weissbier - typical aroma of banana and yeast; cloudy gold colour with a white head; smooth fruity body, with banan and vanilla, not overpowering; clean aftertaste.

Although I am not a wheat beer fan ths was quite good and what I would imagine a good wheat beer to taste like. Decent head which lasts for a little while and decent carbonation. Typical murky golden/orange color as in wheat beers. Strong aroma of wheat and yeast from the start. Strong taste of wheat and yeast with a little bit of spices and a hint of iron. Smooth and creamy and finishes slightly sweet and hoppy. A very good wheat beer by most standards and should be definately tried if you like the style.
