| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 16, 2007 bottle: Deep golden color. Natural cloudiness, with yeast Crispy, refreshing, spicy and fruity. er, I mean, it’s slightly cloudy with a fluffy white head. I can see through this one a little easier than other examples in the style. The nose is strong of apples with good wheaty character and papery hops. The flavor is not as bold as I’d like, but this isn’t the most robust of styles. Even at that, this one is a tad watery. Subtlety is displayed in the workings of the apple, wheat, bubblegum, and clove aspects. The finish is medium dry. This is a classic example of a hefeweizen with good reason, but my American taste buds would like to see a little more oomph. GG (1640), NorCal, California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 18, 2008 Quite simply, there probably isn’t a better German wheat beer. American wheat beers WISH they could be this good. In fact this style might be one of the "original" session beers.
The beer pours out a cloudy, yellow-orange color with a stunning one three finger head which transformed to a 1/2 inch creamy thick cap which stayed during my entire drink. Aroma...bananas. And oh so refreshing. Even on a cool March evening it still manages to refresh. Some sweet malts and just a kiss of citrus. Bananas is the main attraction on the aroma though. Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. Flavors had some nice maltiness to it, subtle citrus...maybe even a bit of vanilla. The flavors just meld incredibly well and transform this into a top notch thirst quencher. Might just be my favorite wheat beer, although New Glarus is very close. kiefdog (1624), Tampa, Florida, USA

Smooth, mild, lemony finish. douglas88 (1624), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

Drank this one last year in Germany, but now it’s also sold in my local supermarket for only 89 eurocents for half a liter. This is going to be a nice summer... beastiefan2k (1603), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA
