Aroma isn't as significant as other Hefe beers, but still it quite spiced. The flavour is typical Hefe. This is an great beer to enjoy while firing up for the BBQ. I like this. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 18, 2004 A cloudy yellow body with a frothy white head, this looked good enough to drink. The mild grassy aroma with a hint of fruitiness was an enticement as well. Nice tart lemony taste with solid spicing as well. Clean tart finish. Great warm weather drink. Great in all seasons. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 13, 2003 Hazy golden with a typical tall slightly off white head. Very light aromas - Mild bubblegum, touch of banana, little malt, but no cloves. Smooth and malty/wheaty. Does have a touch of cloves in the flavor. I have not had this in a while and had on tap last weekend and now tonight in a bottle. Seems better than memory serves. Either the beer has gotten better, or my memory is failing. I'll pray it's not the later.? jbrus (4882), Delft, Netherlands

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 18, 2002 Poors like a golden mist with volcanic head (not kidding). The head was huge. I kep pouring a little bit more just to see the explosive reaction of the head. Surprisingly there was not too strong of a carbonation feel, but present nevertheless. Aroma was that of banana, cloves and hops with a slight hint of wheat and yeast that is common with this style. The flavor was unique. This is my first German wheat hefe, so the lack of citrus taste that is present in Widmer hefe caught me off guard but the smooth banana clove flavors took me to a good place. I drank almost the whole bottle just by doing the review! A nice wheat finish and true to the style. Well done! On my palate it was enriching, slight carbonation and a wheat feel, reminds me of eating oatmeal for some reason. Overall one of my favorite wheat beers now. I knew from everyone else’s reviews that I wouldn’t be disappointed. Tmoney99 (4765), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
