I just love the look of this beer too, with its crisp white head that froths nicely and diminishes evenly. Its murky tan/orange is a great sign posting of what your about to drink. Zesty orange, apple cider, wine, bock, bread and beer. There is no down side to this Hefeweizen. Even the finish is tangy and sweet and leaves your yearning for another gulp. Franziskaner monks didn’t start out celibate, but if you had to chose between this beer and women......... tough one.

After a couple years of looking for a better beer I have concluded.....there is no better beer than Franz.
PS: It’s better than sex. The flavor is a NOT your typical Hefeweizen. It has hints of orange, barley, and just a hint of clove. Overall, a sensational beer and an extreme pleasure to the pallet and definitely memorable! Even for those that don’t normally care for the wheatier brews.

This fine beer pours thick and cloudy with a wonderfully full, creamy head. The aromas of banana, citrus and butter are very forward and distinct. The beer drinks smoothly with a hint of sweetness, and the finish is always subtle and pleasant. Very easy to drink. One of the world’s best beers. Enjoy! silo31 (8), USA does not count | 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Aug 19, 2007 A really delicious Weisse beer.
