Pours a murky gold with a volcanic carbonation that fires clumps of yeast everywhere and lifts up a tumescent, stormy, off-white head. This collapses nicely after a few minutes.
Nose is greeted with a punchy bouquet of banana along with a woody and spicey yeast (cloves, cinnamon).
Mouthfeel is not at all watery (as I’ve come to almost expect from wheat beers). It is in fact quite creamy and releases a wheat and banana flavour with some yoghurty yeastiness. Little noticeable bitterness.
Palate is left spicey and sweet with some alcoholic warmth.
A top class wheat beer and a standard for the current kiwi wheat beer craze to aspire too.
Shame about the new "export green" stubbie bottles.

A golden very cloudy colour and lots of chunks ( that I like to pour when we talk about a non-filtered beer. Aroma of banana, peaches and maybe apples, and of course cloves. Velvety mouth, with the fruits and the clove again, and citruses notes with maybe some coriander. Very refreshing, medium to light body that make it easily drinkable. Dull orange pale straw colour with a huge rocky head with tightly formed dense bubbles. Hazy with a coriander and orange aroma. Full flavoured with the sweetness of citrus and a good cleansing taste. marios23 (16), nicosia, Cyprus

Typical cloudy golden pour (from bottle). Fruity, bananaish taste. Smooth finish. rowbigred (11), Lincoln, Nebraska, USA

I got a strong and sweet wheaty flavor with hints of citrus and bubblegum. The appearance was cloudy and thick, with a creamy head. One of the better German macros that I’ve had. jnelson_22 (21), Spaldwick, Cambridgeshire, England

A wonderful yeasty, fruity (banana) aroma I’ve come to expect from good weizens. Very malty, fruity taste with spicy finish with lingering banana taste. An excellent weissbier; the Dunkel is good to!
