I think the banana flavor comes through, but there’s just something about this brew that makes it consistently excellent everytime I try it. When I am confused about what I should buy, I always seem to be able to fall back on this. Its not always cheap though. Its often around 7.99 USD per six pack, which isn’t horrible, but not exactly a bargain price either. Once I had to have an opportunity to get it on draft, and it was incredible. It was a wedding reception with a free bar, so I kept coming back for more and more and more till I was hammered, and it kept tasting great, but the point is, this is what I kept coming back for, and didn’t want anything else once I had figured out that this was the ultimate, that is, when it was draft. You don't need a lemon wedge. I have a weakness for this style, and this one rocks! Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

enormous, pillowy white head: so far, the perfect look for a hefe weizen.
Aroma: fresh, flowery, dry, loaded with lemon.
Light and smooth, with a good, grainy texture.
Marvelous fruity flavor, with the requisite Bavarian banana/clove character really showing itself more in the middle, and rides on out through the end.
Wonderfully refreshing, thirst-quenching, damned-easy quaffability.
Belongs among the top tier of weizens: ah, delicious!

Aroma is very bready and yeasty with citrusy accents. Flavor is full and yeasty...lots of banana, clove and orange accents. Oily on the palate and very refreshing...another underrated hefe on ratebeer.com! VikingHammer (363), Lynnfield, Massachusetts, USA

Huge, cloud like white head. Very nice. Aroma of yeast, bread, clove, banana. Smells fantastic. Fore of the tongue is sweet, slightly astringent. Thin to medium mouthfeel. Finishes with a nice yeasty note, with banana dominating. Also get some malt and clove in the finish. I thought the Paulaner was too sweet in the finish. This is just right. Very nice beer.
