On par with Paulaner, though I didn’t have them side by side. Refreshing and true to style, this is a beer I’ll be having again. caesar (3034), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 14, 2005 Bottle from Asda. Pours cloudy orange with a fine, fluffy white head. Aroma is spicy, banana-like, wheaty, a touch fruity and a little dusty almost like it has a little damage from light. Flavour is sweet, wheaty and spicy with underlying biscuit character and notes of fruit (banana), bubble gum, alcohol, cereal, bread and a little soap. There is more banana in the aroma than in the taste. Very pleasent and well crafted hefe, excellent. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA

Aromas of yeast and wheat. Some citrus. Banana and clove. Flavors are citrus (orange) and more banana. Peppery spices. Coriander maybe. Malts and wheat are abundant. There is subtle yeast hanging around there. The palate is crisp and refreshing, the body is nice and light and bubbly and it finishes with spice and fruits. enormous, pillowy white head: so far, the perfect look for a hefe weizen.
Aroma: fresh, flowery, dry, loaded with lemon.
Light and smooth, with a good, grainy texture.
Marvelous fruity flavor, with the requisite Bavarian banana/clove character really showing itself more in the middle, and rides on out through the end.
Wonderfully refreshing, thirst-quenching, damned-easy quaffability.
Belongs among the top tier of weizens: ah, delicious!

Nice lacing on glass. Spicy, yet fruity taste. Good medium mouthfeel, not too thin, nor too thick. I liked it a lot. If you don’t like this, you probably don’t like this style of beer.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 28, 2008 #100!! 16.9oz bottle. Pours cloudy golden/copper, substantial creamy white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, banana and spice. Excellent balance, hop bitterness noticeable yet allows the banana, spice, wheat & yeast filter through unimpeded, like bright sunlight through lace curtains over venetian blinds. Carbonation tingles over the tongue, aftertaste of banana bread and spicy hops. Beautiful brew that I look forward to enjoying uch more of in the future.
