I believe that this is the best time of year for us “Beer Lovers”, well at least for this “Beer Fanatic”! The fall beers are coming out, Oktoberfest celebrations all over the place, and all these fine German beers I cherish so much in bottles magically appear on tap.
This marvel of the brewer’s art pours a deeply chill hazed golden amber with a nifty somewhat creamy head that is white in color, the lace a satin sheet on the glass. Nose is lemon like and crisp, hints of wheat; coriander with a smooth freshness that just over whelms the senses, start is semi-sweet, with a splendid wheat and malt profile that leads to the moderate top. Finish is deliciously hopped, delicately acidic, and pleasingly dry and one fine beer in my humble opinion.

At the end, its a bit too hoppy and bitter for the style, but still a top 5 contender. HammerHead99 (12), California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 13, 2003 Hazy golden with a typical tall slightly off white head. Very light aromas - Mild bubblegum, touch of banana, little malt, but no cloves. Smooth and malty/wheaty. Does have a touch of cloves in the flavor. I have not had this in a while and had on tap last weekend and now tonight in a bottle. Seems better than memory serves. Either the beer has gotten better, or my memory is failing. I'll pray it's not the later.? IslandHaole (1035), Onna-Son, Okinawa-Ken, Japan

I had to buy a sixer of this, and I’m glad I did! A delicious beer, anyone have advise on duplicating the recipe?

Aroma of yeast and malt with a bit of citrus and ripe bananas. Flavour reflects the aroma yeast, malt, citrus, banana and a bit of clover. Nicely coats the tongue. Very refreshing. An excellent hefe- weissbier. Storm (2685), Amager, Denmark

Nice aroma of banana, yeast and a lot of bread. Also nice flavour of wheat with some sourness. Very drinkable, one of the best hefe-weissen I had, so far. Falvor dominated by fruit esters with some yeasty sourness. Light hops bittering noted in the finish. Not quite as clean tasting as Ayinger or Weihenstephan, but still quite enjoyable.
