Second rating: from 16.9 oz. bottle, beer pours (in Franziskaner glass) a very cloudy lemon-golden color with a small amount of white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is of banana, lemon (no lemon put in it), spicy. Flavor is wheaty, banana, lemon, smooth, with no hoppiness. Sampled alongside Weihenstephaner Hefe-Weissbier, and Franziskaner is easily better. Sampled nicely chilled. argy101 (1), Ireland does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 7, 2005 This has to be one of the finest beers around, at the moment.Always consistant in all aspects of the drink.

Rich, banana flavor with just a hint of spice. Love to have this with a Brat and sauerkraut. Finish it off with a hunk of beer cheese (made from stale beer). moseefus (58), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

Aroma is slightly fruity but the spices come through beautifully. Taste is slightly sweet but very clean on the tounge. A personal Favorite. kingsleaze (4), Pennsylvania, USA does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 15, 2006 12 oz bottle. Great aroma of banana, citrus, and spices. Pours with a nice head that lingers througout. Not much lacing on the glass. Sweet banana flavor with hints of clove and wheat. A great beer after a long hard day at work... Or anytime really! Crisp finish.
I’ve tried a lot of Hefe’s and this one has got to be one of my favorites. The only thing better than this (that you can still easily get in the states) is the Dunkel version.
Prost!
