I’ll use the following oxymoron to describe this beer: Light; yet filling. wooooooooo....pretty good. nice hbomb of a head, the kind only rivaled by hookers in ABC land. Yes, folks, it’s true...cookie monster IS in rehab.

500ml bottle from Sainsburys. Clear golden wheat beer with white head. Lemon/herb nose with yeast and some bubblegum/banana but no where near as distinctive as some other wheat beers. Nice hoppy finish but I found it overly carbonated and slightly metallic.

Bottled, from Sainsburys. Gold, good lasting white head and good condition. Initial sweet artificial banana aroma soon replaced by a gentle graininess and low hop notes. Soft and fruity sweet in the mouth with a gently estery banana note in the background. Low phenol and banana in the finish.

Clear golden, light white head. Phenolic nose full of cloves, dough and citrus. Faint floral aspects, banana esters and lemon citric bite make up most of the flavors. light carbonation, light-medium body. Average.

Clear yellow with an enormous whit head. Veggie, yeasty, slightly sour aroma. Bready, with hints of banana flavors. Finishes with a faint woodsy note (Cedar, maybe?). I really don’t get this style - filter wheat beers seems to turn them into an average lite yellow ale. There is nothing wong with this beer, but it feels like any unique character is missing.

(Bottle 50 cl) Comes as: "Franziskaner Weissbier Kristallklar". Beautiful yellowish golden, low head. Lots of fruity esters - Spaten has pretty much maintained them in the brew in spite of the filtration. Less dry than other Kristalls. 080699
