Clear dark brown color with a large to huge, creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, burnt, coffee, notes of smoke - peat, licorice. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (120408)

Jul 3, 2008 0.5 l bottle. Opaque dark brown color with thick tan head, some yeast flocs. Licorice, charcoal, chocolate and couch medicine in the aroma. Charcoal, salty licorice and chocolate in the flavor. Oily palate. Rich and tasty artisanal porter.

Jul 1, 2008 Bottle at Chris_o birthday bash 08. Black with thin tan head. Roasted malts, smoke, ashy. Quite deep malts. Deep mouthfeel. Some bitter choc. I quite liked it.

Jun 21, 2008 Bottle.Creamy lightbrown excellent fully lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and hoppy aroma, very smoked! Powerfull bitter flavor with strong licorice and smoked notes. Long nice finish. Creamy palate. Very nice beer.
