Commercial Description:
The latest evolution in beer styles has come from the West Coast where they don't believe that there is such a thing as 'too much hops'! The style is Imperial IPA and ours features 3 very potent American hop varieties, Columbus, Chinook and Cascade - hence the name C3. Hops are added at just about every stage of the process from the mash all the way through to a very generous 'dry hop'. This beer needs a lot of strength to support all those hops so note the high Original Gravity. O.G. - 19.85P/1082. Hops - 95 IBUs. (theoretical)

GABF 2006. The beer pours to a hazy caramel colored body with a creamy white head. The aroma is hugely hoppy with lots of fresh, raw, chinook and cascade. The flavor is hugely toasty, nice sweet maltiness, the hops are apparent, but not the main part of the taste. Smooth light resiny mouthfeel.

GTMW 06. Hazy peach with white head. The aroma is herbal and citrus with just a touch of bread. The flavor is fairly dry, floral and grapefruit. The mouthfeel is light with soft carbonation. Good stuff.

Growler and served in my GI IPA tulip: A hazy and deep copper hue greets the beer geek topped by a small but tight frothy head which left good amount of lace on the glassware. The aroma is pure juicy hops, it is all there...pine, grapefruit, pear, lemongrass and aromatic notes with a fair amount of biscuity and Carmel vapors too.

The taste is much more in balanced than the nose let on. The citric, resin, pine, and peppery character is on display in tour de force however the malty and almost earthy yeast components are enough to provide a shocking easy to drink IIPA! The more I drank of this, the more I was colored impressed. The lingering astringent and resin aftertaste let me know this is still a very hoppy brew. The mouth feel is biting along the edge of the palate but smooth in the center with more than enough body to carry the flavors, oh the alcohol is so well hidden. A prime example of what a double IPA can be without going to extremes. Among the best of the genre! Get ya some if you can!!
(Many Many thanks TJ, it was all I could do from drinking the whole growler in one night)

2006 GTMW. Slightly hazy copper. Creamy sparse white head. Cascade grapefruit aroma. Full grapefruit hop flavor; pretty good but typical.

On tap at the Great Taste of the Midwest. Poured a hazy, golden brown with a short whitish cap on it. Nose was very heavy on the hoppage... pine, grapefruit, grass, and a lighter fruit bouquet were nothing short of spectacular!... some malty sweetness was evident beneath. Flavor was solid, but came off a tad stale... big citrus and pine, a respectable caramel base, and hints of cardboard. Thick and resiny on the palate, coating the tastebuds very well! Excellent overall, and would like another shot at it!

One of the big hits of the Great Taste of Midwest. This one had my whole group of hopheads buzzing. The aroma was a monster combo of grapefruit, some other exotic fruits and pine, like the Garden Of Eden must have smelled like, the taste was that enchanting aroma developed into a rich and hoppy nectar that was out of this world. Stunningly good, the best new hop Beer I tasted at the festival. My group wanted to know where they could get this, and I had to tell them that unless I heard different, I’m sure this stuff is not bottled, almost a sin

Shared by goldtwins: Pours a clear dark bronze with a well-lacing white head. Has a big, fresh hoppy aroma balanced with a smooth, dry caramel malty presence. Body starts with nice crystal malty sweetness and lots of bittering and flavor hops. This is a nice, hoppy, and well-balanced, drinkable double IPA.
