Commercial Description:
This flavorful beer is made in the style of the India Pale Ale Style originally manufactured in Great Britain for their colonies in India, but with an American twist. The harsh travel that the beer had to survive required a strong, hoppy beer. The Hops and the high level of alcohol helped buffer the beer through its long travels. Made with flavorful and full bodied Pale Ale malt combined with a touch of caravienne for color and carapils for body, the rich flavor of this beer is matched and enhanced by a very generous portion of Centennial and Cascade hops. The Cascades give this beer its distinctive floral aroma and a uniquely American character.
O.G. - 14.5/1058. Hops - 48.5 IBUs.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a light amber with a white head. Aroma was a big grapefruit with some sweet lemon hops. Just a gorgeous potent aroma. Flavor was sweet lemon at first and then a grapefruit finish. Solid body with a herbal bitter aftertaste. Kind of reminded me of disolved aspirin.

On tap at Barley’s with Dansting, TimmyK, and Caddy. Pours a coppery pale color with a very nice initial head, excellent lacing, a great start for Kansas. The aroma was hoppy, citrus and pine hops taking stage center, and done in tandem very nicely. Flavor does the same, again just a nice meld of those two hop qualities, nice malt presence, but not one that adds a lot of flavor behind the hops. Mouthfeel was dead on, moderate overall, perhaps heavy within style. Cheers to my Kansas pals.

On tap.
Pours a clear amber-copper with thin head that doesn’t even cover the entire surface. Piney, citrus nose with some malt sweetness showing. Flavor is, naturally, a wall of hop bitterness that gives way to pine, grapefruit citrus, bitter orange, and a nice dose of malt sweetness to provide a pleasant balance. For a beer that appeared to have weak carbonation, the palate is rather pin-prickly and lively. A pretty solid and well-balanced American-style IPA.

Pine, floral notes in the nose. Nice balance of hops and malt. Grapefruit, nuts, spruce and floral notes-not too bitter. Clean refreshing finish with a medium body. An excellent IPA.

On Tap: Pours a reddish brown copper color with little head and nice lacing. Aroma is of pine, citrus, flowers. Flavor is nice and malty with hop undertones, if thats possible for a IPA. Quite good. Impressed with this classic Free State beer.

On draught at the brewpub. It pours a clear medium copper color with good head and lacing. The nose and flavor have pine and citrus. The flavor is very balanced and drinkable. If I lived here I this would be in my regular line up of brews.

This one is great, but imperative to be drank at the proper temperature, because I did not get much out of it from the first tap, but as it warmed on the bar, it became richer and more complex, and if you drink it too fast you miss out on alot of the subtelties. The only downside was just a bit of a chalkiness in the finish. Great floral and fruit aroma, and a generous addition of hops, quite tasty.

The tap poured a sparkling clear medium amber beverage with a small frothy white head that was mostly diminishing but left good lacing on the glass. The aroma had a light malt character with a moderate flowery hop aroma. It had a medium to full body with soft carbonation and a slightly dry texture. The flavor started off with a light sweetness and bitterness at the same time. The sweetness gave way to the bitterness as the flavor matured on the palate. The finish was long and moderately bitter with a light alcohol feel.
