| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Sep 29, 2005 Appetizing light copper with a cap of fine off -white head. Wonderful soft orange and candy hop aromas; gently fruity yeast and a light toastiness. Soft and clean on the palate. Nice citrus/fruit hop flavor, substantial but not overbearing bitterness. Lovely toasty maltiness that lingers into the finish. Just enough body to carry the flavor. Overall, it’s not really big enough to be an IPA. But it’s such a delicious pale ale, I have a hard time minding that much. I’m regretting not bringing back a growler full. tjthresh (1781), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/20 | Sep 26, 2005 Cask conditioned at the brewpub. Probably on of the best cask ales I’ve even had. The problem is, this in not an IPA. No way. A perfect pale ale. Hop aroma and flavor are very enjoyable. Quaffable. I don’t understand the IPA designation. desurfer (1068), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA

Hoppiness was in the range of your typical APA, with a weird flavor in the background I couldn’t place, but detracted from the beer considerably. spamolacat (1), USA does not count | 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Jul 1, 2005 best ale I’ve ever had. better than sierra nevada and I love that. good aroma nice mouth feel.
