Commercial Description:
This flavorful beer is made in the style of the India Pale Ale Style originally manufactured in Great Britain for their colonies in India, but with an American twist. The harsh travel that the beer had to survive required a strong, hoppy beer. The Hops and the high level of alcohol helped buffer the beer through its long travels. Made with flavorful and full bodied Pale Ale malt combined with a touch of caravienne for color and carapils for body, the rich flavor of this beer is matched and enhanced by a very generous portion of Centennial and Cascade hops. The Cascades give this beer its distinctive floral aroma and a uniquely American character.
O.G. - 14.5/1058. Hops - 48.5 IBUs.

Appetizing light copper with a cap of fine off -white head. Wonderful soft orange and candy hop aromas; gently fruity yeast and a light toastiness. Soft and clean on the palate. Nice citrus/fruit hop flavor, substantial but not overbearing bitterness. Lovely toasty maltiness that lingers into the finish. Just enough body to carry the flavor. Overall, it’s not really big enough to be an IPA. But it’s such a delicious pale ale, I have a hard time minding that much. I’m regretting not bringing back a growler full.

Cask conditioned at the brewpub. Probably on of the best cask ales I’ve even had. The problem is, this in not an IPA. No way. A perfect pale ale. Hop aroma and flavor are very enjoyable. Quaffable. I don’t understand the IPA designation.

I wouldn’t have guessed this was their IPA. Hoppiness was in the range of your typical APA, with a weird flavor in the background I couldn’t place, but detracted from the beer considerably.

Fruity, floral, bitter hop aroma. Copper/amber in color with nice lace. Bitter mouthfeel; peppery. Something is not quite right, but it is still a good IPA.

Fresh but overwhelming aroma of Cascades. Clear copper penny color. Whew! Grapefruit assault! Way too citrusy. Sorry, can’t wrap my tongue around this one. One-dimensional.
