Shag (1787), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA Jun 4, 2008 A black appearance on this one. The aroma is a tad smokey with some chocolate, coffee, and some dark fruits maybe grapes? The flavor is a bit sour but also a little bit sour with some chocolate, coffee, and more dark fruit. Nothing amazing but a solid beer anyways.
heemer77 (3782), Savannah, Missouri, USA Jun 8, 2008 Growler at Noogfest ’08. The body was black with a yellowish head. The aroma was milk chocoalte with coffee and soybeans. The taste was chocolate and coffee. This was also slightly bitter. A nice stout. tronraner (1434), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Jun 6, 2008 Bottle at Noogfest Four-O. Pours mahogany black with tan head. The aroma is creamy and roasty, something like a latte, along with some unripe berry notes. Flavor is pine and light chocolate, some mild cappuccino-esque notes, and a surprising balancing hoppiness. Not too shabby. beerguy101 (3488), Newark, California, USA Jun 4, 2008 Tasted at Noogfest 4.0 (2008). This Imperial Stout pours a dark black color from the growler. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is chocolate and coffee. A medium bodied Imperial Stout. The malts are chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. The hops are earthy. Lots of roasted malt flavors, a touch astringent. Some dark fruit as well. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter with some roasted malts. aracauna (2239), Georgia, USA Jun 3, 2008 Pours a dark dark brown. Slight raisin and brown sugar. Subtle smokey hints. Soft and rounded flavor, but still full flavored.
