Mar 1, 2007 Handbottled (Thx. henrikb for shariing). Pitch black coloured. Small brown head. Ligth oxidated aroma. Is a bit medical and full of alcohol. Some chocolate and light roastyness. Flavour of liqourice, light roast, light chocolate and some herbal notes. Loads of barralnotes here. A bit too much for my likings. Medium bodied. Ends on a liqourice note with loads of alcoholwarmth on lips and palate. Tasted blind.

Feb 25, 2007 Pours sans head, extremely dark brown. The aroma is very strong of alcohol and chocolate, with perhaps a small, small hint of oatmeal. The appearance is right on for a stout. The flavor is somewhat dominated by the alcohol, but it is right on the verge of being a completely even mix of alcohol and chocolate. The palate is nice as well. Overall, not a bad beer.

Dec 23, 2006 (Handbottled 35,5 cl) Pours completely black and opaque with a pretty much absent head. Also the carbonation pretty much got lost in the handbottling process. Fat aroma of roasted malt and dried fruit - very vinous, sort of like the Amarone of the beer world. Extremely full-bodied, pours thick like tar. Wonderfully complex woth lots of raisins, sweet roasted malt, oak, vanilla, bourbon and a burning alcohol. Even without the carbonation this is a grand beer indeed. Wauw. 191206

Dec 22, 2006 Bottle. Very dark brown colour nearly black with no head at all. Lovely aroma of sweetness, roastedness, alcohol and some portwine-like. Nearly no carbonation. Very wonderful nice flavour of sweetness, roastedness, chocolate, coffee, caramel, winery just like a good portwine. Big mouthfeel, and thick. Ends up little alcoholic and smooth. Very lovely endeed.

Sep 3, 2006 Bottled from a growler. Dark redish brown, little head due to circumstances but enough to provide some decent lacing. Fruity aroma with bittersweet molasses notes. Licorice, apples, and apricots in there too. Flavor is rich but not overly sweet. Has a balanced bitterness and pleasant hotness in finish. Thick and syrupy. Mmmm.

Jul 28, 2006 hand bottled from growler by way of kramer17801. Pours black and thick. Aroma is of caramel, molasses, roasted malt, slightly nutty, and sweet. Flavor is much the same. Really sweet and bitter finish. Slighly smokey as well. Excellent.

May 9, 2006 I was blown away by this beer. Awesome flavor that finished nicely. Just the right amount of alcohol behind in.
