Commercial Description:
Cask; Seasonal - Autumn and Winter. Also available bottle conditioned.
Packed solid with malt, hops, and oats. Possibly the darkest stout of all time, a single varietal beer, made only with Fuggles hops, packed with bitterness, and brimming with aroma hopping, a deep and complex beer, worth taking some time over, and exploring the Hampton Court like maze of complex flavours. Initially, the dry, biscuit flavour of roast barley attacks the palate, soon to be replaced by the soothing Fuggles balm of rich smokiness, and then layer upon layer of malted oats, rich dark malts, and an unidentifiable eutectic finish of pure stout character.

What a great stout. I'm usually more of a dry stout fan, but this one has such a great meld of flavors that really appeals to the taste buds. Starts off with a thick, tan head above its deep brown-black body. Roasted malt and caramel on the nose and palate along with coffee overtones. Nice mix of sweetness and bitterness.

Has a huge dark brown/caramel colored head on a close-to-black body. Big chocolate malt aroma, sharp and roasted with a touch of milk. Medium-bodied, bitter and corrosive initially, then turns to sweet milk and is much more smooth. Thick finish is of caramel cream and coffee.

Dark chocolate head. Malt, caramel, yeast rich nose. Nice thick mouthfeel - rolls around well. Good long finish. Medium bitter with heavily roasted malt flavors, some oat too.

WOW! This is the first beer that I've ever seen that seems to not only look like used motor oil, but during the pour, seemed to have the consistency of it as well. Small brown head. Nose is rich with roasted malt, burnt wood, light hop character, coffee, and cocoa. Definite ham and smoke as well. Very rich aroma. The body seems too thin to be a stout like this. It's velvety smooth but feels almost waterlike in the mouth. The taste is more smoky wood than anything. More roasted malt and dark chocolate. Smoked meat taste in their also. Like a poor man's rauchbier, almost. Very pleasant though. Nice beer!

Pours thick, black and with a thin tan head that sticks to the sides of the glass in nice sheets. Roasty chocolatey nose is rich and mouthwatering. Thick and chocolatey, creamy, slightly complex mix of chocolate, roasty malts, cake-like richness and distinct bitterness makes this thouroughly enjoyable. A wonderful stout!!!

Black color, near opaque, with a thinner light brown head with decent lace. Aromas of rich malts and grains, peat, and hint of floral hops (not as refined as golding but quite adequate). Silky thick liquid. Strong dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, with enough malt sweetness to balance things together. Well put together. Dark roasted malt bitter finish.

Pour pitch black with a thin tan head. Aroma is of dark fruit and coffee. Flavor is of coffee, vanilla, chocolate, dark fruit, and oak. Most stouts have some of these flavors but this is the first non-imperial I have tried that has had all of them. It is medium to full bodies. Very nice stout.

Good creamy head. Not too terribly much in the way of aroma. Nice balance of roasted malt and malt flavor. Quite an enjoyable stout. Finishes a little to the dry side.
