Commercial Description:
Cask; Seasonal - Autumn and Winter. Also available bottle conditioned.
Packed solid with malt, hops, and oats. Possibly the darkest stout of all time, a single varietal beer, made only with Fuggles hops, packed with bitterness, and brimming with aroma hopping, a deep and complex beer, worth taking some time over, and exploring the Hampton Court like maze of complex flavours. Initially, the dry, biscuit flavour of roast barley attacks the palate, soon to be replaced by the soothing Fuggles balm of rich smokiness, and then layer upon layer of malted oats, rich dark malts, and an unidentifiable eutectic finish of pure stout character.

Very dark brown opaque body with a tiny khaki colored head. Aroma of roasted barley and dark chocolate. Smooth on the palate. Some roasty coffee flavors with a good hop character. A tasty stout, but just a little under-carbonated in my opinion.

Very dark appearance with a relatively small head. Earthy, nutty, roasted malt aroma. Full-bodied flavor with a variety of interesting tastes (chicory, bittersweet choclate, pepper, woodsy). Finished dry and pleasantly bitter.

Could've used a couple of years of aging. Worth stowing a couple for a re-rate.... Thick everlasting brown head, with almost a cascading effect. You can smell the roast! Black beer that tasts as such, with massive hop and barly bitterness. Good to the last drop, and would probably still be good after five years or more.

Blacker than black with no highlights, some brown head. Chocolaty aroma with roasted malt. Initially sweet, gives way to a lingering roasted coffee flavor in the back. Velvety mouthfeel at first with a very dry finish. Big bodied as well. Quite good, definitely a sipper.

Pour opaque black with very little head. Aroma is like adding a lot of chocolate to an ESB. It is dry up front. Mouthfeel is a silky and alot like chocolate milk. Chalky finish, excellent stout.

roasted and dark choclate aroma, black with dark khaki head, silky sweetness into alcohol into bitter roasted malt, increasingly winey and woody

Black as a moonless night in the woods. Lasting, frothy tan head with a nice coating of lace. Mouthfeel was rewarding: easy to drink, yet smooth and thickish at times. Creamy carbonation. Malts very chocolatey and roasted. Maybe a little coffee, too. Big, "burnt" quality to it with a bitterness that builds in the finish. Little nip of alcohol added a nice touch. Very nicely balanced and pleasant to drink.

Silky, indulgent, bittersweet aroma, espresso, molasses and semi-sweet chocolate, with a fruity background of dark plum, raisin and spicy hop. Solid ebony in color, a decided lack of visible effervescence and a head that quickly succumbed to the inky depths. Bottle swirled and poured for optimum nourishment. Roasty malt start, with notes of burnt grain, coffee and cocoa, developing a toffeeish sweetness and earthiness, and with a woody, bitter, roasty and hoppy finish. Smooth, thin palate, medium bodied, reminiscent of the effect achieved with cask ales, and I have no doubt that method would be fascinating to sample as well.
