Commercial Description:
Cask; Seasonal - Autumn and Winter. Also available bottle conditioned.
Packed solid with malt, hops, and oats. Possibly the darkest stout of all time, a single varietal beer, made only with Fuggles hops, packed with bitterness, and brimming with aroma hopping, a deep and complex beer, worth taking some time over, and exploring the Hampton Court like maze of complex flavours. Initially, the dry, biscuit flavour of roast barley attacks the palate, soon to be replaced by the soothing Fuggles balm of rich smokiness, and then layer upon layer of malted oats, rich dark malts, and an unidentifiable eutectic finish of pure stout character.

Pours without much head. Dark motor-oil like viscosity. Really smokey aroma, not much is apparent over the smokiness. Smokey flavor as well with a little bit of hoppy bitterness coming out. Also, some sweet rum flavors as well.

A black stout with body. No head and very little carbonisation with a coffee like taste and thickness.Very drinkable and very straightforward. What you see is a dark stout with taste and a kick, and that is what you get!

This beer rocks! Pours pitch black and creamy. The miniscule, swirling head is beige and creamy. Coffee, buttermilk, dark and citrus fruits and dried flowers in the nose. Lesser notes of toasted hazelnuts and pistachios. The flavor is of rich, dark roasted malt up front with a blast of very strong coffee. Well-balanced with a moderately bitter and lightly pungent hop presence on the backside. Also a hint of chocolate covered cherries. Medium-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and pillow-soft carbonation. Lengthy, bitter, dry finish. A touch of cocoa at the wee end. A very smooth, drinkable stout! Thanks to hopsrus for this excellent beer!!

Really really dark color with no head at all. The aroma was smoky for sure, with a roasted bitterness mixed in. The flavor was much of the same with an alcohol character in the aftertaste. The feel was completely flat. Maybe I got a bad bottle, but I felt zero carbonation.

Damn this is dark as hell for a brew there is definately no chance that light will penetrate this stuff. It had absolutely no head. The aroma was malty and very smokey, and no carbonation at all that i can detect. The flavor was litely malty ,coffeeish, with a definate smoke flavor presence. The feel is smooth as hell no bite what so ever. With an after taste that is still a slight smoked coffee that seems to last for ever. This is buy far the most pleasant and drinkable stout i've had ever, and well deserves a rare but well deserved perfect score.

Large smokey cherry aroma. . . Pours thick and very dark. Fabulously silky mouth feel. Roasted nuts, berries, barley and wood. Good lingering roasted and fruity qualities, Very well done.

Gorgeous coal-black pour, small but very thick head. Roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate, the usual suspects, dominate the nose; slight hints of cherry to my senses as well. Very dry on the tongue, grainy, malty but not really sweet at all, milky soft mouthfeel. Somewhat nutty and smoky, but coffee dominates the flavor. Bitterness might be just a bit overwhelming at the very end. Really great dry stout, one of the best I've had; wish I'd gotten a couple of others from this brewery.

Viscous black body with almost no head -- passes the 60-watt test, and looks like it could pass at 500 watts. Aroma isn't particularly strong, but I picked up smokiness, coffee, and cherry. Taste is reasonably smokey, but also malty and coffee bitter. The coffee bitterness carries through the swallow quite nicely. Medium body, fairly creamy.
