Commercial Description:
Cask, Occasional;
A full-flavoured, golden coloured ale, Honeydipper (4.6% ABV) combines a distinctively hoppy flavour with subtle overtones of honey from Fairtrade producers in Chile to give the beer a unique point of difference. Brewed using First Gold hops from Worcestershire, it has an easy drinking style, a silky aroma and long, smooth finish.

Cask in the new crown. Alround rating: Sweet honey and slightly grainy pale malts, herbal perfumy floral hop helped on with the honey, quite well balanced and tasty all round.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Gold with white head. Highly perfumed golden beer with a ripe lychee flavour, slightly off and metallic unfortunately, not to my taste.

Handpulled cask at JDW Hatch End, Harrow. Gold with a delicate white head. A very drinkable beer for it’s type with noticable honey well balanced by the first gold hops.

Cask handpull at Hamilton Hall, JDW, London. Gold, lasting white head. Good condition. Honey really shines through. Gives it some sweetness, but keeps its balance. I liked it very much. Good honey and flavour balanced by hop. Good.

Cask at ’Spoons, Milton Keynes. Gold with a small white head. I picked up a citric aroma. Odd malty taste that I could never quite pin down, by turns almond, cardboard, earth and bread. Quite sharp bitterness. No appreciable honey. Still changing my mind about this one.

A Mes rate: cask at Baker St ’Sporks.
Clean gold with a decent white head and reasonable condition. Faint hint of honey on the nose with some bready malt in the background and some faint pig farm. Similar flavour with a strong mineral note. The honey develops a little in the finish but it doesn’t do much overall. Good mouthfeel thanks to the adjuncts. So so.

Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Very average and uninteresting. Pale gold with a thin white head; no noticeable aroma; lemon and lime flavours over a watery grainy base; little in the way of a finish. No sign of any honey.
