Commercial Description:
La Muerta is brewed each year for Día de los Muertos in honor of our departed friends and family. A big, lush Imperial Stout, La Muerta is full of roast, smoke and chocolate flavors from an array of specialty malts that go into this garnet-black beer.

Draft at the brewery. Opaque black with a tan head. Nose is sweet, chocolately, oatmeal and roasty. Taste is chocolately, roasty, alcohol upfront. Thick and viscous. Delicious.

(draught 2008 vintage) pours black with nice tan head. Nose of milk chocolate, smoke, cocoa,caramel and grassy hops. Taste of oats, cream, dry cocoa, and chocolate syrup. Finish is creamy and slightly watery with more cocoa coming through. A great Texas brew.

Cask Stillage from the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 25/09/2009 Hop and roast aromas. Small beige head. Black strong in alcohol rich on the palate and hoppy with a little bitterness and smoked flavour in a crisp finish.

Bottle received at this year’s CBC. Awesome, complex flavors go to richly chocolate, roasted malt. High alcohol levels made this one to enjoy slowly. Tremendous effort by these guys!

Sampled at the Ohio group tasting on DLD eve ’09. Dark brown color with a medium tan head. Aroma of grain and sweet malt. Smoky and malty flavor with a roasty finish.

The look is dark, black black in color, with a light tan colored head. The smell is dark chocolate, some smoke, roasted malts, and coffee. The taste is licorice, roasty, chocolate, coffee, malts, and some fruits.

Bottle shared by KP and another from travita. Pours black with a small brown head. Aroma is smokey and has some spice. Flavor is light smoke an a big amount of roast coffee with chocolate. Medium bodied and very easy to drink.

(22oz bottle, courtesy of jkwalking05) Pours a dark brown body with mahogany highlights and a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate. Flavor of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, and caramel.
