joss (3117), Garching b. München, Germany Apr 30, 2008 Bottle. Grassy hop aroma. Dark brown, cappucino head. Fairly lighbodied, some roast, herbal grassy hops. Light sparkly. Grass and hay retronasal. Light nutty aftertaste. kappldav123 (973), Markkleeberg, Germany Dec 18, 2007 I’m not a fan of schwarzbier, but this one was really good. Deep black colour, roast-malty aroma. It’s more zippy than I exspected. The malty taste is really constant. A good beer. Quack-Duck (1698), Bodensee, Germany Nov 9, 2007 on tap. Dark brown, large head. Flavours of roasted malt and caramel but overall a bit thin. yngwie (3454), Kristiansand, Norway Sep 20, 2007 On tap at Berliner Bierfestival. Clear, dark brown body, with a minimal beige head. Quite weak aroma, with small amounts of roasted malt and grains. The flavor is fuller, with roasted malt, grains and fruityness. Quite pleasant. Medium body. It finishes slightly roasted, with a little fruity hoppiness. A decent, quaffable beer. (070803) Kirill (238), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jun 16, 2007 had this in a small mountain village in saxony in a giant 1 liter mug... the coolness factor of that was definitely 10/10... the beer itself was good but a nothing amazing, just another typical german dark lager with strong hints of bread
