Smooth caramel malt flavoured, light bitter and vague fruity note. Roasted malt and bitter finish. raymondwave (867), Finland Nov 23, 2006 Updated: Nov 25, 2006Tasting of 10 altbiers. First seems flat, then bitter and smooth mouth feel. Very long pils like hoppy aftertaste. Turned out on top 3! Surprisingly good. bierkoning (5989), La Tropica, Netherlands Jan 30, 2006 Cookie dough aroma with a hint of cinnamon. Sweetish cookie dough flavor (Bastogne koeken!). Malty with a touch of bitterness coming up in the aftertaste. Better as expected. MoritzF (4859), Bochum, Germany Dec 13, 2005 (bottle) Supermarket brand, brewed for Rewe-markets. Clear mahogany coloured hue with a small but stable off-white head. Roastmalty aroma, not unpleasantly sweet and a hoppy note, no detectable fruity esters but a hint of glue. Dry roastmalty taste, light to medium bodied, ok-carbonated, almost lasting bitter hoppy finish. Still drinkable brew…if you are LOST on a remote island, far away from Düsseldorf. Probably the old DAB Alt.
