| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 11, 2009 The aroma is odd for the style. It is grassy and paper like with some biscuits, fruit, and yeast. The appearance is deep gold with an amber hue and a large head. The flavor is like the aroma and astringent. The palate is thin. Overall this beer has some good qualities but the negative ones bury them. Dorwart (1831), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 6, 2009 Decent sized bright white head of fine bubbles. Light malty and dusty aroma with a bit of toasted grains, some tea leaves and crusty bread. Color is an unimpressive dirty browish orange. Sharp flavor with pasty malts, some roasted grains, dried orange peel and some herbal notes late swallow. Dry and a bit on the gritty side in the mouth. Finishes very dry and roasty. An ok brew but could use more body. Dickinsonbeer (3563), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 1, 2009 Bomber. Pours a hazy copper with a thin lasting head- slight lace. Aroma is medium toasted malts, light crystal, toffee, bread, and nice english fruity esters- light peach and raisin. Flavor is also on the fruity side almost too much so, but still enjoyable- pear, peach cobbler, green raisin, also- ok sweet malt profile and a nice floral wildflower honey note. Has a prickly earty hop finish with more fruity esters. Ok for an ESB. LooseCannon (936), Norfolk, Virginia, USA

Pours a crystal clear amber with a short-lived off-white head that recedes to a ring and leaves only traces of lacing.
The aroma has a clean bready malt presence that competes with an earthy hop presence - grassy with hints of lemons.
The hops hit up front in the taste but are fairly mild and gives way to the dominant bready malt backbone. The finish is crisp and clean with a slight hop bitterness.
The mouthfeel is smooth with good carbonation and dry and crisp in the finish.
This is a decent, slightly-hopped-up ESB that I quite enjoyed. zappafan99 (463), Ascension Island
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Feb 10, 2009 Taste 2/9 Bottle. Looks: A little thin looking. Watery tea with some bubbles edging the glass. Aroma: Roasted malt and a yeasty must. Taste: Malt and yeast balance ok, just seems watered down over all.
