Golden caramel color with three big puffy fingers of whitish head that settles quickly. Aroma is lightly acidic possibly infected? Malty, lightly spicy, and grassy hops. Taste is lightly hoppy, thin malt and hints of the same acidity. This used to be on tap in Knoxville and I remember it being a much more malty and spicy hop bitter ESB. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA

Pours a reddish amber with a one finger head and moderate lacing. Someone else commented that it looked like fall. Roasted grain aroma with notes of caramel-covered granny smith apple. Specific, eh? Roasty, toasty grain notes with bitter hoppiness. JPDIPSO (4929), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 26, 2008 Thanks Secret Santa. Lightly hazed, mostly orange in color liquid. One of the more golden orange colored brews I have had. Quarter inch of stable foam on top. Aromas of apple peels, thin caramel, orange peels, earth and hints of tomato juice. Quite dry and fizzy feel, almost like there maybe a bit of infection in the bottle. Dry malt start. Some bitterness kicks in with grapefruit pith and rye in the middle. Finish has a touch of sourness, as in a sourdough bread kind of way. Not much malt depth, plenty of bitterness. I’m having a hard time sluggin this bomber down. I think this bottle may be a rebel in itself.
