Poured a dark brown that allows some light. 2 finger creamy tan head. The nose is a bit grainy, lightly sweet, some alcohol evident, chocolate, a bit fruity. The flavor is grainy, a bit sweet, some chocolate, very light alcohol, a bit watery. Decent mouthfeel, satisfying carbonation, crisp, finish is initially sweet, some crispiness, and then grainy. Pretty good local NC brew.

The color was dark brown. The head was creamy, off-white, and thin. The aroma was spicy, sweet, and peppery. The flavor was slightly sweet, spicy, but lacking. The palate was lively. The finish was slightly hoppy.

Sampled at Dickinsonbeer’s Hoboken gathering - fizzy clear brown beer - sticky lace - aroma of spices and strong nuttiness - there is a similar nutty character in the flavor, along with some very light spices - none of the earthy complexities of most good dunkelweizens - nothing stand out here, but tasty enough.

Bottled at Paul’s gathering. Mild, roast and spice aroma. Light cocoa. Flavor has a spicy yeast, strong wheat, and pumpkin notes. Carbonation is a bit high, and the beer is a bit lactic.

Drank this about a week ago with some peeps. Was not too impressed at all. Aroma has light cocoa, butter, and a bit of yeast. Flavor was watery, mild cocoa, nuts, and a bit of yeasty water. Meh. Went down very easy but not a very enjoyable beer.

Bottle at Paul’s Hoboken Gathering: Brown with good clarity and a tan head. The aroma has some chocolate/vanilla, diacetyl and a hint of licorice. Interesting nose. Light mouthfeel with a nice malt flavor. Toasted cocoa character- chocolaty without being sweet. Very light roast in the finish. Surprisingly clean.

Poured a lightly hazy brown color with a small, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of cocoa, nuts, yeast, earth, and light spices. Taste of caramel malts, light chocolate, coriander, some orange peel, yeast, and a dry finish.
