sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 10, 2009 pours clear golden, white head with floating elements
Aroma funky with some spices and light malts.
Flavor, bitter palate yeasty and reminiscent of a saison. Light spicy finish with hints of citrus and apple. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Oct 1, 2009 Courtesy of sebletitje. Pours clear gold with straw hues and white head. The aroma is sweet with fruity esters and floral hops as well as rose pedals and grains. The taste is a bit on the bright side with spice and acidity followed by a shallow hollow graininess. kiefdog (1567), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 21, 2009 Bottle courtesy of sebletitje. Pours a clear yellow with thin white head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of fresh flowers, hay, yeast, grain, light earthiness. Flavor is sweet and floral with notes of yeast, grain, fresh fruit, light honey and spice. Generally light body with a crisp finish. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA Sep 19, 2009 Thanks sebletitje for the share. Pours light yellow with a white head. Nose is pear, apple, light malt, and some floral hops. Flavor is similar: apple, pear, a bit dry with a tartness and a saison quality. Light body and not bad. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 17, 2009 Bomber from Cindirene’s. Pours hazy canary with big 3-finger, clingy white head. Nose is pale malt, lemongrassy hopcitrus, yeasty spice. The pale malt predominates the taste, with mid-palate hops, citrus, dry floral notes, and that same late slightly tart yeasty spicy flavor that I’ve gotten in all FB beers. A good kick off beer for a ramp up session of styles. TampaBrew (746), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 9, 2009 Nose is lemony, some sulpher, toast. Flavor is lemons, sweaty, spicy. Not a Kolsch in my book. bubbleflubber (885), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Sep 6, 2009 On draught at the High Country Beer Fest, it pours a clear light-golden with a non-retentive head. There is a small grain nose. The mouthfeel is hollow, with predominant sourgrains followed by a spiced-bitter finish. It just feels a bit devoid of substance in the mid-palate, which throws it off kilter for me a tad. Just an ok Kölsch here, that’s about it. lithy (1600), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Sep 1, 2009 Pale whitish yellow. Aroma is watery, light corn. Taste is again mild corn, yeasty, lightly spicy. Decent kolsch.
