Growler from Greenlife. EXCELLENT sublte flavor. True to style. Very little hop presence. Grain taste is fantastic. Very light and very drinkable

Draught at Barleys, Asheville. Nose is bready malts, crisp hops. Flavor is crisp and slightly spicey and slightly watery. Its fine, but not as much flavor as the big boss kolsch. Kolsches are hit or miss for me, the american versions are mainly miss though.

On tap at the Federal. Tasty beer, great for summer. Light golden pour, nothing much to look at. Crisp, light hoppy aroma with a bit of vague spiciness to it. Nice refreshing bitter finish. Great with food. Another solid offering from French Broad. A near perfect beer for a 90-degree summer day.

On tap at The Federal, Durham. Nice golden pour with a lively spicy aroma. Thin head and a fairly thin body too. The flavor is crisp hops with a bit of fruit and spice in there. But it washes out pretty quickly. While thirst-quenching, this pales besides some of its local competitors.

Pours a golden yellow color. A very faintly fruity that doesn’t promise a flavor explosion which I’m sure is the point. A light beer that can be enjoyed slowly in the air-condition and slammed before it warms in the summer heat. A touch of crisp apple, a lightly bitter finish. Does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

From draught sample at French Broad. This one has a very light aroma, with little sweetness and a nice light hoppy character. Golden clear body with a thin white head. Light-medium body with medium-heavy carbonation. Clean crisp with mild beany character. Bit of floral hop bite at the finish. Not quite as flavorful as the actual Kölsch samples from that fair city, a bit water, but drinkable.

Draft at the brewery... Very drinkable beer... when I’ve had this at the warmer summer festivals, it is one of my favorites, in colder weather, the clean refreshing taste is a little lost on me... Very clean and crisp with what might be Saaz hops... I’m not a huge lager fan or a fan of the lighter beers, but this one would suffice any day the heat gets above 80 degrees.

Growler. Sweet barley malt aroma with a hint of peach. Pale yellow with a moderate white head. Barley malt predominantly - lightly sweet with a moderate hops finish. A nice koelsch on the the hoppy side.
