Very light, even for a Pils, straw color with impressive foamy white head. From there on it’s yeast, yeast, yeast. Smelled like bread, tasted like bread, mostly sourdough. Medium to light body, fairly fizzy, and very crisp and dry on the finish. Had a few grassy, wheaty notes but lacked the light citrus I tend to enjoy in Pilsners, but this is ok when the beer is named Goldenrod. Interesting, though the strong yeast flavor was too much along with pizza! chronictonic (404), Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 20, 2004 I have only had this mixed with Guinness at a local pub, it was called a Golden Czech. But when you actually reach this in the glass it is good, but I need to drink it by itself to know for sure. wilkie (1192), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2003 It tastes fresh. And furthermore, there is none of that pilsener-like flavoring that I find prevalent in US pilseners. Crisp finish. Little bit weak on hops, but solid effort and worthy of a second beer.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 12, 2002 Very Crisp, and a bracing hop bitterness to start. Nice bitterness throughout, actually. It lacks the softness one usually finds in European Pilsners, but still and interestin interpretation of the style.
