Commercial Description:
This "Harvest" porter is "silky and smooth," as beer connoisseur Tony Kiss says. Lighter than most porters but with the same toasty finish.

Sampled at the Knoxville Brewer’s Jam. Poured a dark brown with a one finger tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and bitter chocolate. Flavor was bitter chocolate and caramel, with a nutty finish.

Draught. Pours a really dark ruby, near black, without much head. The aroma is really mild. I get hints of musty basement, whiskey barrel, earth. Kind of reminds me of a mild ale in the nose. The flavor delivers a lot more heartiness. Lots of meat and ashy flavor dominate while the coffee is kept in check. The finish is smoky and tart. I get a bit of cola initially, but the roastier, meatier flavors are the strongest. In today’s world, this is a pretty unique porter. I liked it.

Black, with a thin tan head. Smells like coffee and cream, very nice aroma. Nice roasty, coffee flavors with a touch of vanilla and dark chocolate. The roasty flavors really become more pronounced as it warms, as well as some smoky notes. On tap, Barley’s, Asheville.

Draft sample at KBJ08. Poured clear dark brown color with an average fizzy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt and chocolate aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. A smooth drinkable beer.

Draft at the brewery. Dark clear pour with thin light tan head. Lightly roasty aroma. Flavor is roasty and malty and more like that of a sweet stout than a porter. Medium body with a chalky finish. Nice.
