Aroma of smoked grains and some caramel and molasses. Flavor of brown sugar. Very dry finish is the only thing that hinders this. Rciesla (3844), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 21, 2008 On tap at Ruby’s in Haw Creek/Asheville. It’s own description does it justice: malty, toasty, and sweet. It’s not overly sweet, though... nice toffee notes of sweetness. Biscuity, too. Surprisingly light, so don’t expect a knockout. One of their better beers, I think. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 17, 2008 Dark and malty with a big alcohol presence. Bittersweet with a smoky, peat tang. I liked it immensely. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 26, 2008 This is not too much of a step up from the regular wee-heavy in my opnion. A bit morem altiness and alcohol, but still lacks that certain flavor that makes it stand out as a scotch ale. This is nuttier than it predecessor, with some caramel and toffee. Pretty mild for the style.
